Open Science Forum  4, 24 & 25 September 2025

The 4th Open Science Forum (OSF-4) for the Open Asia project took place on 24th & 25th September 2025 at Galeri Azman Hashim, Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS). Welcomed by OSF-4 Chair Prof. Ir. Dr. Rosalam Hj. Sarbatly and UMS Vice Chancellor Prof. Datuk Dr. Kasim Hj. Mansur, the forum convened global experts and regional stakeholders to discuss citizen science, open access implementation, and FAIR-compliant infrastructure. 

Key Highlights:

• Keynote Addresses: Features included talks on global trends in Open Science (Prof. Ir. Dr. Shaliza Ibrahim), the U-Science Initiative (Mr. Zawawi Tiyunin), Open Science policy and incentives (Prof. Dr. Wan Hashim Wan Ibrahim), enabling policy environments (Prof. Dr. Maninder Singh), and building local HEI training modules (Prof. Dr. Valerij Dermol).
• Panel Forums & Best Practice Sharing: Hosted interactive discussions on Citizen Science and local knowledge, European and Asian experiences in Open Access and Citizen Science acculturation, and designing FAIR-compliant repository systems.
